We are always looking for skilled coworkers at the Institute of Bioinformatics at University Medicine Greifswald. Postdoc in Medical Informatics / AI in Medicine

Available immediately, Full-time position (E13 pay scale), fixed-term for 36 months

Your Responsibilities

  • Responsible for connecting University Medicine Greifswald to the KiMeKo Data Access Application platform.
  • Collaborate closely with the Data Integration Center, the Ethics Committee, and the Data Protection Officer to establish processes for training AI models on Greifswald patient data.
  • Develop and validate artificial intelligence methods using clinical data.
  • Contribute to related research projects in medical informatics and artificial intelligence.
  • Document and present research results at national and international conferences.

Requirements

  • A completed degree and PhD in medical informatics, bioinformatics, computer science, mathematics, or related fields.
  • Advanced knowledge in the development and application of AI methods, particularly in a medical context.
  • Experience working with clinical data and related data protection requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate across disciplines with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

We have always openings for Diploma, Bachelor and Master Thesis projects, and encourage students interested in one of the research areas of the group to apply. We are constantly getting new data and projects which can also lead to publications including You as an author and are open to additional suggestions for possible thesis topics within the area of research of the group.
